The Skyloft

The Skyloft is a secluded one-bedroom retreat perched above the landscape, with extraordinary views across the Shropshire Hills towards Nipstone and the Stiperstones.

Designed around space, light and the huge Shropshire sky, the living area sits upstairs beneath the roofline, where a spectacular window fills the end of the room and draws your eye straight to the horizon. A juliette balcony opens directly onto the view, bringing the landscape even closer and giving the whole space an almost elevated feeling above the hills.

Inside, the design is contemporary and confident, with clean lines, strong shapes and rich burnt orange bringing warmth and character to the space. Everything has been chosen to complement rather than compete with what lies beyond the glass. Two generous sofas make this somewhere to properly settle into - coffee in the morning, a book in the afternoon or a glass of wine as the sun disappears behind the hills.

The view is ever changing. Bright blue mornings, gathering clouds, rain moving across the valley, dramatic sunsets and dark, star-filled nights continually change the room around you.

Downstairs, the spacious bedroom is calm and understated, with a super-king bed that can also be arranged as twins and the same sense of quiet, considered luxury that runs throughout the property.

Outside, The Skyloft has a private enclosed courtyard with seating, garden pots and uninterrupted countryside views. Footpaths lead directly from Birchope into the Shropshire Hills, with the Shropshire Way close by and The Bridges within walking distance. Or stay exactly where you are and let the landscape provide the entertainment.

The Skyloft is a place to retreat above the landscape: slow mornings, enormous skies, long walks and evenings spent watching the last light fade across the hills.
